Why my data doesn't update instantly
Updated August 10, 2026
Analyzing social networks takes time, so ContentScout refreshes each piece of data on its own cadence rather than live. A number not changing when you reload doesn't mean something is broken: it means its next cycle hasn't run yet.
How often each thing updates
- Your posts and metrics: refreshed daily.
- Comments and sentiment: picked up by a process that runs every hour. If you add several accounts at once, they can take up to an hour to appear.
- Audit: the score recalculates every 24 hours. If you improve your bio, your link, or your posting rhythm, the next measurement reflects it.
- Freshly added accounts: the card shows "Queued / analyzing" and the posts arrive within minutes.
What "Updated X ago" means
It's the timestamp of the last completed analysis for that account or section. It tells you how fresh the data you're looking at is, not when the next cycle lands. If it says "3 hours ago" and the cadence is daily, everything is fine.
If the initial analysis failed
If something fails in your first analysis, a banner tells you plainly and we retry automatically every hour. There's nothing you need to do.
Analyses run automatically while your subscription is active. If your plan isn't active, reactivate it from Subscription so they run again.
When to wait and when to write to support
- Wait if you just added an account (minutes), if you're expecting new comments (up to an hour), or if your audit didn't change today (it recalculates every 24 hours).
- Write to us if an account has gone more than a day with no data, if "Updated X ago" is far past its cadence, or if the error banner won't go away after several hours. Use the Help & support button at the bottom of the sidebar.
