How to write the full script of an idea
Updated September 24, 2026
The script comes from an outline. First you create an idea's outline (its five parts: hook, tension, solution, transformation and CTA), then Scouty develops it into the full script, ready to shoot or design. It does not use credits: it counts toward Scouty's monthly usage limit.
1. Create the outline
Tap Create outline
In the chat, every idea card has a Create outline button. You can also ask Scouty in your own words: "outline a reel about why my paycheck is gone before the 15th".
Pick the format and recipe
A card shows up to confirm: pick the format (short video, long video, carousel or Stories) and, if you like, a style recipe. If you asked for a length, like "a 15-second reel", the outline is spread over that time.
Tap Generate
The outline arrives as a card with its five parts. You can copy it or save it with the save icon.
2. Write the script
On the outline's card (not the idea's), tap Write script. Scouty writes it in your voice, from your brand profile, and posts it in the chat as a script card, section by section:
- Short video: what you say to camera, the on-screen text and a shot and pacing note per section.
- Long video: the full spoken script, 1,200 to 2,000 words, with the graphics or b-roll and the scene notes.
- Carousel: the text of each slide and its visual direction.
- Stories: the text of each story and the stickers (poll, quiz or question) where they go.
Every tap on Write script is a new take. If it doesn't land, tap it again.
Save the script
Tap the save icon on the script card: it lands in Saved inside its own outline, not as a loose document. From Saved you can also tap Write script (or Rewrite script) on any saved outline, and Copy script to take it to your editor.
Frequently asked questions
Why don't I see Write script on my idea's card?
Because the script is written from an outline. Tap Create outline on the idea, confirm the card, and the Write script button shows up on the outline.
Does writing a script use credits?
No. Writing scripts and creating outlines don't use credits; both count toward Scouty's monthly usage limit.
Can I ask for the script of a topic that isn't in my ideas?
Yes. Ask Scouty for the outline of that topic in your own words; once you confirm it, write the script from its card.
