How to read your Insights

Updated September 9, 2026

Insights is an inbox of findings. Every day we go through what we already have on your accounts, the ones you follow, and the viral library, looking for things outside your normal: a follower spike, a format that outperforms the rest, a competitor who changed topics. When we find something, we leave you a card in Insights.

You won't always have new cards, and that's normal. We only tell you when there's something measurable to say. An inbox that invents findings to look busy is an inbox you stop reading.

What a card tells you

  • The finding, in one sentence with its number. It isn't a hunch: every card compares against your own normal, not anyone else's.
  • How many posts it rests on. A finding backed by 40 posts weighs more than one backed by 5, and we'd rather tell you than hide it.
  • Where it comes from, with a label: your account, a specific competitor, or your niche's viral library.
  • The posts behind it, with thumbnails. You can open them and check for yourself.

Where findings come from

  • What you follow: your connected accounts and the competitors you keep in Tracking. That's where spikes, topic shifts, winning formats, and posting slowdowns come from.
  • The viral library: what the posts going viral in your niche are doing, compared against every other niche.

The more accounts and competitors you keep in Tracking, the more Insights has to look at. A freshly connected account needs a few days of history before a spike means anything.

What to do with a card

  1. Open in chat

Send the finding to Scouty with the context already in place. The button changes with the card: on a spike it explains it, on a format it generates ideas. The message is written for you and you decide whether to send it.

  2. Mark as done

Once you've acted on it. It leaves the inbox and the counter goes down.

  3. Dismiss

When it isn't useful to you. It won't come back.

The badge in the menu

The number next to Insights in the menu is what's still waiting on you. It doesn't go down just because you looked: it goes down when you mark something done or dismiss it. Past 99 you'll see 99+. It shows with the menu collapsed too, over the icon.

FAQ

Does it cost credits?

No. Insights only reads data we already collected for your accounts and competitors, so it costs nothing and there's nothing to turn on.

How often do new cards show up?

We review each account once a day. If something changed, the card shows up that same day.

Why don't I have any cards?

Almost always there isn't enough history yet: spikes need at least ten days of measurements, and format comparisons need several posts on each side. Connect your accounts and add competitors, and the inbox fills on its own.

A card says a post "lines up" with a spike. Was it that post?

Most likely, but we say "lines up" on purpose. We know that post took off the same day the number did, not that one caused the other. When several posts are candidates, we say so on the card itself.

Can I get back something I dismissed?

No. Dismissing is final, precisely so the inbox doesn't fill up with what you already said isn't useful. If the finding repeats and changes a lot, it can come back as a new one.
