How to read the "Your hooks" box
Updated August 10, 2026

The Your hooks box lives in each account's Overview view in Tracking and shows the top 5 hook types that account opens its videos with, ranked by performance. It's computed only from the account you're viewing, so it reflects its real style, not a generic list: your Instagram, your TikTok and each competitor get their own ranking.
How to read it
- Performance: each hook is compared to the account's own median (for example, "performs 3× its median"). That keeps the ranking fair whether the account is tiny or huge.
- Count: how many of its standout posts use each hook type.
- Example posts: drill into any hook in the ranking to see the real posts that use it and study how they pull it off.
Mind the difference between performing and repeating: a hook you rarely use but that performs well above your median is usually your biggest opportunity to use it more.
What to do with it
When you sit down to create, start from your strongest hooks instead of improvising the opening. Check a competitor's box too, to see how they open their most-viewed videos. And if you want to go further, turn your best hooks into a reusable template from Recipes to apply them to your next ideas.
Why is my hooks box empty?
It's built from the account's standout posts and their transcripts. If you just added the account or it doesn't have enough analyzed posts yet, give it a little time to fill in.
Why do my TikTok and my Instagram show different hooks?
Because each account is analyzed on its own, with its own posts and its own median. What hooks on one network doesn't always hook on another.
