How the free days, plans, and credits work
Updated July 22, 2026

ContentScout uses credits for the AI-powered actions and gives you a few free days when you start. Here's how the free window, your plan, and your credits fit together.
Your first 3 free days
When you create your account you get 3 free days, no card required, with a pool of 15 trial credits to explore the AI analyses. The Pro features (Recipes and Topics) unlock when you subscribe.
When the free window ends
If you haven't subscribed yet, your account switches to read-only: you can keep browsing your content, but actions that generate new analyses pause until you activate a plan. Nothing is ever charged automatically: we never ask for a card during the free days.
Monthly or annual plan
You can choose monthly or annual billing from the Subscription page. Both unlock every tool and your monthly credits; annual includes your credits up front for the whole year. You'll see the exact prices on that page.
What credits are
Credits are the balance you spend on AI actions. With an active subscription you get 50 credits per month for each workspace (or 720 per year on the annual plan). These are the actions that use credits:
- Transcript of a post: 1 credit.
- Full analysis of a post: 2 credits.
- Analyze a post by pasting its URL: 2 credits (fetch + analysis).
- A topic search in Topics: 2 credits per search.
Re-opening a transcript or analysis you already generated is free: you're only charged the first time.
If you run out of credits
If you run out before the next cycle, you can buy an extra credit pack from the Subscription page. Extra credits don't expire until you use them.
Your credit balance is always visible: in the sidebar and on the Subscription page.
