This Privacy Policy explains how Board Group LLC ("we") collects, uses and protects information when you use ContentScout at contentscout.co and app.contentscout.co.
1. Information we collect
Your information. When you use ContentScout we may collect your name, email address and the information you provide when creating an account or contacting us, including the material you upload to your brand profile. We also collect basic usage data, such as pages visited, device type and browser, through cookies and analytics tools.
Public information from creator profiles. In addition to the data you provide, ContentScout collects public information from the profiles of creators you choose to follow within the application, and from featured accounts in our content library. That information includes the account's username, display name, profile image and follower count; the text and metrics of their public posts; transcripts of the audio of their public videos; and public comments together with their author's username, date and reaction count. We obtain it through data providers that access public content only, for the purpose of generating the analyses and recommendations you request. We do not collect private content, direct messages, or information from accounts that are not public.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to operate and improve the ContentScout platform, respond to your requests, send you relevant product updates and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
To generate analyses, summaries and content ideas, we process the material described in section 1 using our providers' artificial intelligence models. That processing is carried out to deliver the service you request.
3. Cookies, analytics and measurement
We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, understand how visitors use our site and measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. For that last purpose we share technical identifiers with advertising platforms, such as your IP address, your browser identifier and contact details in hashed form, in order to attribute sign-ups and conversions. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, although some features may not work as expected.
4. Providers and recipients
We work with external providers that receive only the information necessary to deliver their services and are contractually required to protect it. The categories of recipients are: infrastructure and hosting, payment processing, email delivery, product analytics, advertising and measurement, social media data providers, and artificial intelligence model providers.
Our main providers are Supabase and Vercel (infrastructure), Stripe (payments), Resend and Beehiiv (email), PostHog (analytics), Meta (advertising and measurement), ScrapeCreators (public social media data) and Google (artificial intelligence models and sign-in).
5. Storage and security
Your information and the analyzed material are stored on servers operated by our cloud infrastructure providers, encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest. Access is restricted to personnel who need it to operate the service. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, loss or misuse.
6. Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active, and the analyzed material for as long as it remains necessary for the service's historical and comparative analyses. We do not apply a fixed automatic deletion period.
If you delete your account, we delete your profile, your workspaces and the content associated with them. We retain a minimal record of the email address associated with deleted accounts in order to prevent abuse of our free trials, and issued invoices, as required by law. Public creator material that is shared across multiple accounts is not deleted when an individual account is closed.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by writing to us, or delete your account directly from the application. We will respond as soon as reasonably possible.
If you are the owner of a profile included in our analyses and you want us to delete the material associated with it, write to us at team@boardbit.co indicating the username and the platform, and we will delete it from our systems. We need that detail in order to locate the material, since we organize it by source account and not by person.
8. Connecting to artificial intelligence assistants
ContentScout lets you connect your account to third-party artificial intelligence assistants, such as Claude, through an authorization that you initiate and can revoke. The connection is read-only: the assistant can read the data from your account that you request, and cannot create, modify or delete information in ContentScout. When you use that connection, the data the assistant requests is transmitted to that assistant's provider and becomes subject to its own privacy policy. We log the date, the tool used and its parameters for security and diagnostic purposes.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will publish the new version on this page with an updated date.
10. Contact
If you have questions about this policy or about your data, write to us at team@boardbit.co.
